Storytime: My Bluesy Plumber

Yesterday a plumber came to fix our shower (which has been leaking quite a bit). I was glad to have a plumber take a look, but also frustrated to schedule my Sabbath / the day where I’m sermonizing around his visit.

He gave me a call about 10 minute before he planned to arrive, so I cleaned the apartment as well as one can in under 10 minutes. My landlord told me that this guy was “rough around the edges,” so I wasn’t really sure what to expect.

Scott the Plumber was the GREATEST.

Authenticity: It’s Tough Stuff

This past weekend was our fourth Ridder retreat (my second) in northern Michigan. That devotional is available here – I would definitely consider taking a look, particularly if you’re seeking a new rhythm for your own personal devotions!

Cool things from February:

  • first Winter Retreat with my middle school youth group was a success!
  • co-led our Elder and Consistory meetings due to Steven’s absence
  • hosted a Ladies Night fundraiser, and became the last minute speaker (obvi I took a stab at the Proverbs 31 woman)
  • spent lots of time crafting a schedule that prioritizes self-care / exercise
